I am a Christian stay-at-home mom of 4 children. My oldest son is 28 and is the proud father of Xander and husband to Mallorie. My teenagers - ages 18, 18, and 16 - fill my days and nights with ongoing activities. We have home schooled for 10 years and counting! We incorporate education in everything we do. Being a home school family, when is there not a "teachable" moment!
Our twins, Matt and Melissa, have both been accepted to Auburn University in Alabama for Fall 2012. They are both excited about next year and all the changes it will bring!
My husband, Rod, is a realtor with Crye-Leike Real Estate in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. He enjoys helping others find their dream home. He also is the Scoutmaster for our sons' Boy Scout troop. We can't wait to see both our boys earn the Eagle Award! Matt has completed his Eagle project, Eagle Board of Review, and has been awarded his Eagle. He will be presented his award at a ceremony February 2012.
I enjoy reading, gardening, and "computering." I started gardening in the spring 2010, and each new season's garden teaches me more things! This summer (2011) I've been able to plant basically 2 back-to-back summer gardens. I guess living in the south is a good thing!
I am learning "Freezer Cooking" and have enjoyed having pre-made meals in the freezer for those crazy days. So far the meatballs, spaghetti sauce and shredded chicken are hits. I have added homemade lasagna and baked ziti to our freezer. I'm so thankful we were able to purchase a stand-up freezer last fall!
I enjoy reading the classics and Christian fiction. Some of my favorite authors are Karen Kingsbury, Neta Jackson, and Elizabeth Musser. I also grow in my Christian faith through Bible studies and conferences including Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Women of Faith. Through the different blogging for books programs, I am reading even more authors and genres! One of my new favorite authors is Andy Andrews. Great fiction reads!
In my spare time, I dream of having the time to play my violin again!
